After Obama’s successful campaign resulting into a widespread “rumor” that Osama Bin Laden, the famous terrorist who was supposedly the mastermind for the 9/11 attack has been killed and now the world is “almost” free from terror.
Ok…let’s discuss some interesting scenarios…supposing Osama is real and is dead now. Will it be correct to say that the world (read America) is free from terror??? Is Osama such a fool that he will not train a successor, equally strong to carry forward the legacy of Al Qaeda??? And if his death is faked by the Americans, which many people think is the case, then they are in grave danger for sure. According to a survey conducted by some private website, asking people about their opinion on Osama’s death, 67% believed that his death was faked and rest 33% believed that he is actually dead. Out of this 33%, 80% were Americans. This is height of optimism and belief…
And if were to believe a lot of rebels (for America) who are pretty much sure that this Osama figure is just like Michael Barbossa of Dum Maro Dum, fake….just one name of terror used by America for some purpose, which is beyond my understanding. And now that the purpose is over, they have mocked the death of a fake person. Someone please explain the brain dead Americans that this will not help anything, neither the rising unemployment, nor the rising gas prices, nor the wars and the tensions prevailing between countries. The American press (along with moronic Americans) has made the issue so glamorous just like a latest Lindsay Lohan’s tape and has pretended that Osama’s death (if legitimate) is of utmost importance for the nation and the world.
Let us just go back some time in 2001. The (in) famous 9/11 attack on American soil which moved the entire world right from the base, was supposedly the mastermind of Mr. (fake) Osama. If we glance through the website of America’s Apex defense organization – FBI’s list of top ten most wanted people, Osama (listed as Usama on the website, doesn’t matter whether you call him Usman or Ussain or Usama as long as the person does not exist) figures in there. Moreover, FBI has very recently (today itself) updated the status of Usama from active to DECEASED (after a long break of 6-7 days…what took them so long to change this status…after all Usama was one of the most hated and yeah the most wanted person in America). And most importantly, according to FBI, Usama was not involved in 9/11 attack, since this activity is not mentioned in the list of notorious activities by the honorable Mr. Fake.
Moreover, in 2008, in a poll of 20 countries, 15% believed that the US government itself is responsible for the attacks. And the same was conducted a couple of days ago and among those same 20 countries and the result was interestingly shocking. This time the % jumped from 15% to 45%. So, the scenarios have increased from a real and dead Osama; to fake Osama; to fake and dead Osama; to real and alive Osama; to death of clone of real Osama and what not.
After all these dramatic events, there is one man who has gained a lot. (If you guessed its Obama, then you are completely wrong) It is Osama himself (assuming he exists). What a popularity he has gained after these actions by his dearest friend Obama (name sounds similar isn’t it, maybe they are brothers…that’s why Obama is hiding his real identity) because from now on his death day (assuming he is dead) will be celebrated all around the world.

The Power of ONE...
When I was in school, my dad used to say “beta man lagakar padho, bas “ek” sal ki baat aur hai...phir to aish hain...zindagi ban jayegi” And the dialogue remained unchanged for the forthcoming years of my life. Be it the 12th class or the final year of engineering or the year after that to get into MBA or the final year at MBA or the first year at job. And I am still wondering that when will that “ONE” year end...feels like never...
India is predominantly a savings oriented country where even ONE Rupee was considered valuable by our forefathers, which is really the case...given the time value of money :) (1 Rupee of their time is valued much more than 1 Rupee of today). In today's era of 99 or 999 or 9999 and likewise, you offer the shopkeeper a 100 rupee note or 1000 rupee note and neither the shopkeeper returns the change nor are you expected to ask for it (or else you'll get a stern look). So has this one rupee lost its importance???
I don’t know because sometime back this happened...
Few days back, the toll charges on Gurgaon Expressway were increased from Rs. 20 to Rs. 21. A mere one rupee hike isn’t it. But this caused a colossal amount of problems to the travelers across the city. Traffic jams during the non peak hours were to the tune of 3-4 kms on either side of toll which amplified to as choked as 7-8 kms during peak hours. Here the same one rupee was responsible for people sweating in the traffic jam costing them 4-5 hours of their precious time and making them say some “serene” words to government and other fellow people. (No prizes to be won on guessing some of those “serene” words)
And then we had some very poor people……
Mr. Kalmadi, after the allegations of hefty bribes, said that he was deeply pained and constrained at the malicious campaign against him and the stories going around are far from facts. He promised that he would resign if proven guilty of taking “ONE” Rupee as bribe. Someone please explain Mr. Kalmadi that no one can prove that you took one rupee. Because you took much much much much more than that and the amount was so staggeringly huge that 1500 people (different assumptions can add to different number of zeroes) can survive their lives on that amount.
On one hand we have poor and deprived people like Mr. Kalmadi or Mr. Raja for that matter and on the other hand we had some prime ministers like Morarji Desai and Lal Bahadur Shastri, who used to draw minimal amount of salaries, sufficient enough to keep their and their families’ stomachs filled.
With changed times, seven digit salaries, major increase in purchasing power, changed spending patterns, innumerable options to spend, Rs. 1 or rather even Rs. 100 also has actually lost too much significance (my grandmother till date cannot digest that paani puri is now for Rs. 30 for five pieces, in their times it was Rs. 1 for 100 pieces). However, even now, crucial events like the toll hike comes up and I am compelled to mull over the advice of my progenitors about the power of 1...the mulling over doesn’t even end and we have our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh skipping the voting in his constituency; and the congress spokesperson defends the same simply by saying...“How does ONE vote matter”????? Does it really???????

The Tale of AUDIs and BMWs
When I was in Jaipur doing my graduation, I always thought of Honda City as my dream car with the Audis and the BMWs were to be seen and to be adored only on Google images. That time it was a status symbol to have a Honda City and was a rare species to be found. Then I moved to my post graduation and the dream status symbol also shifted its axis from Honda City to Honda Civic. Here again the BMWs and the Audis were only to be seen on Google Images. It looked like future was in the womb of the Mother Nature and I was not able to see it.
So I have completed my post grad and have moved to a city which carries a name tag of “village” with its name however, is in no sense one. Yes it is Gur-“GAON” and I feel that it is one of the most advanced cities of the country. I said this because when I drive from my residence to my office, I see a lot of Audis and BMWs on my way apart from a large number of Skodas and Toyotas and Hondas. At times, these premium cars can be seen in the form of taxis as well.
However as far as my status goes, I was driving a Hero Honda Splendor plus then and I am driving the same vehicle now as well. The only change that has happened is that now these cars can be seen on the road and I don’t need to access Google images to see them.

dukhi man ki dastan
Days are spinning at the speed of the wheels of a Ferrari. I feel like it was yesterday when I was in college, living a free life without any burdens and pressure, free to play, sleep, enjoy, eat, and do the thing which we were very good at – “bhasad”. But then when I open my eyes in reality, I find myself in the fast moving corporate world. Yes….it has been 2 months since I entered this world and I don’t want to get out of the college mode, but ye zaalim duniyaaa....
It has been a bumpy ride so far - full of excitement, a little bit of fear, nervousness, tension and many other unknown and unnoticed emotions. At times I feel I have understood my work and just a moment after that I feel I am still at the basement of the learning pyramid.
Off late, I have made some friends out here but have distorted a few newly made friendships well due to reasons beyond my understanding. Yet have not been able to gain the confidence of my boss. The schedule of the day however remains erratic. Sometimes I am extremely busy but at the end of the day when I analyze what I have done that day, I find nothing substantial. And at other times I am genuinely free.
That’s why I say the days are spinning like the wheels of Ferrari however unlike Schumacher driving it to the chequered flag, the fuel of my Ferrari is wasted fruitlessly.

Prized Asset
It has been 7 days since my “first” “Corporate date” commenced and here I am staring at another of my “first”, a prized asset that I will treasure throughout my entire life. The first seven days have been more of dull and no work types, yet exciting in some sense. The post lunch times have been so sleepy that I have to spend more time in the washroom washing my face or the cafeteria than on my seat.
Yeah, I was talking about the “prized asset”. Hmmm. So yesterday the accounts person approached me with this asset in his hand and it looked like he was holding garland in his hands with a light violin music playing all around, all set and ready to hand me over this asset and thus welcoming me to a different class all together.
And me, I was very happy. Though my hands were shivering and I had a feeling which I can’t explain because I don’t remember how I felt at that moment. From that I could gather, I was like the king who has captured the last state remaining in the world and is now crowned as the king of the world. Ohh that feeling enthralls me and I feel like sitting in the seventh heaven. I devoted this one to my parents, God and teachers and all my friends who made me capable to have achieved this feat.
Yes that was the thing that everybody desires and dreams of while he is studying laboriously in the most exciting period of his life. It is a priceless possession for me (more precious than Sachin Tendulkar’s bat with which he hit 200* or the Queen Elizabeth’s ring or the Kohinoor diamond itself) and I wish to keep it as a memoir, but I will have to take it to the bank, no choices :). I guess by this time you must have guessed it. It is my first salary cheque.

My first CORPORATE DATE.....direct from office
My work has ended already and thus starts the herculean task of passing time before I can leave….its not that I don’t like being here, but the very fact that everyone is very busy (its financial year closing time here) and thus they are unable to allot any wok to us and thus we are totally free but bound to the clutches of the office walls and discipline…
I started my first “corporate date” just 4 days ago and already passing time has become an issue…well the first day was classic in its own sense…we were two joinees and we reached office before time at 9:15 AM and thus paid the price of waiting for some extra time…we had to wait for an hour or so before some came to brief us…she briefed us for half an hour and then left us on our fate before one of our seniors bumped into us and introduced us to the entire staff….some time passed…
Everyone questioned our date of joining and said that we should have joined after 1st April only…but some said its good that u have joined now….this period of 6-7 days can be your “honeymoon period”…no work…no one to monitor u….just enjoy and relax….there was one more question which was directed towards us by almost everyone and this was “which team u are allotted in?” and we had no answer to that…
So after meeting the entire staff, we went on to have our lunch and for that we went to the food court downstairs and that helped the clock to tick fast for us…when we came back, the lady that briefed us in the morning caught us again and then we were allotted to teams and (un)fortunately I am in the team of a person who makes everyone work very hard…
Then I was shown my seat and given some documents to read…..now starts the fun…post lunch time and some uninteresting docs to read….no prizes to be given to judge what happens next…I find myself sleeping in the office…..so I went to the cafeteria to have some coffee and found one of my colleague there and did some chit chat with him….he said pass ur time till 4 yaar then IPL will start, so come to cafeteria and watch the match…
So this is how I spent my first day in office….
The next two days went relatively cooler for me…since I was given some work to do and this kept me busy and I got some learning too….nevertheless we will have to find ways to pass time till at least 1st April (closing ends and new financial year begins)…

Do I really deserve this degree??? I guess not !!!
So here I am.....an MBA i.e. Master of Business hmmm something...(lemme google this to find out) Google - MBA's biggest friend apart from his laptop, movies, sitcoms, serials, live sports and sleepless nights ( I m not forgetting the unforgettable and great friends that I made here....friends here include living human beings)
Someone asked me the biggest take away from these two years.....without giving a second thought I said - HOSTEL LIFE...yeah...its true.....not any knowledge,....not the degree...not even my job....I'll say the hostel life as my biggest take away from these two years.....this was my first time and hence not only did I enjoyed a lot but I also got to learn a whole lot of things which can't be described in words.
If somebody has to ask me what I did during these two years, my answer would be that I became a pro in "seep" (game of cards) and contributed in making many more the same. Apart from this, I learnt to play volley ball, then tennis and then started playing TT after a very long time. Enough of sports,...hmm....I watched movies (Hindi movies for a change...thanks to my roomie), series, sitcoms and documentaries. And if there was some time left....did some assignments and studies (just for a few hours during the exams)
So looking at this, no body will agree to the question that "Do I really deserve this Degree???" and now when I have the time to retrospect and introspect, I also feel the same....It looks like I have wasted a couple of years of my life enjoying....but still i am happy since I can't...in no way...can get these two years of my life back....
Those sleepness nights during the exams..trying to do the last minute studies...trying to gauge the paper by looking at the last years' papers...dividing the chapters and then combined studies (even if the no. of chapters were very less)...Those superb cut copy paste assignmnets that we did and submitted in pdf format to avoid getting the plagiarism check or spending time to change the language (just a word here or there to get a less % of plagiarism)....The allegations that i have done the entire project and u have done nothing.....the delegation of work.....u do this..u do this...u get the print out.....and I will present.....and then fights...no i will not do this....i did this last time.....just like small kids.....
Fighting for seats in the quizzes....cursing the teacher for not letting us cheat or changing the seat at the last moment....of for taking a quiz in the class in which we were absent......and many a times (almost every time) cursing him/her for taking a quiz in the first place,.....
Then how can we forget the parties...the late night Traditional MDI parties....especially the farewell party for the seniors....that was awesome....everyone at his/HER best.....then comes the awesome mess....don't have words to express here..so no comments......
To all my friends who made these two years unforgettable...thanks...thanks a lot...I love u all....very much....I can't and will never ever forget these happy moments.....
........THOSE WERE THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE.........

What to write???
Well I was thinking to pen my thoughts this time on the awesome last night that we spent in MDI...but something happened today which swerved my thoughts....
Its none other than the great little master blaster...I don't know what adjectives to put behind his name since each one would demean his stature...Some how I feel lucky to have watched the entire match on television, though I envy people in Gwalior who got the opportunity to watch it live in front of them...I assume all those people who have missed the match, have missed a treasureable moment of their lifetime....
Great great innings....though i liked the entire innings but the way he played post his century, he reminded of the old Sachin, the sachin of 90s..i don't have words and enough space to explicitly tell the greatness of the innings and hence i will save myself from the pain of doing the same...
This was the only record that was untouched by the great man which was true to his caliber.. and yet another step towards CENTURY OF CENTURIES....keep going man....
Kudos to others as well especially Kartik who played a superb innings and to Pathan and Dhoni as well....Ohh this reminds me of the powerful shots hit by him and then Ravi Shastri's comment on that - "Everyone has to keep an eye on the ball, even if he is a spectator"...
Lets c how our bowlers perform...since we can't forget the fact that it was the same South African team which defeated the undefeatable champions, the Aussies, by making 434....

Not a perfect ending to the MBA course
Everyone was so happy before something very evil came up in the last two days....though a little sad that the course is ending and then everyone will go back to their busy lives after an awesome couple of years spent here....lemme tell you firstly that we did everything here in these two years except for studying and fortunately got a job as well...
This is exam time and most of us are even done with theirs but unfortunate me has one more to go tomorrow morning...but nobody is getting even a slightest of the feeling that the exams are going on...we are playing TT, cards, involving in hours of something very important of these 2 years of life, "bhasad"...(please note that the "WE" here in the start of the sentence does not involve the regular "Ghissus" which are still "Ghissing, ghissing and ghissing")..so everyone is trying to enjoy in the most awesome way they can think of....
But some events unfolded today and yesterday that has not only disturbed many of us...but has made me think again and again that it is the era of "Ghor Kalyug" for sure...
Well everyone wants to forget that issue and so do we...and therefore we were playing cards...we took a tea break of 10 min and thats when I got the time to write this...the team has arrived on the mecca (my room was rebranded as "MECCA" of cards {seep in particular}) and hence I should bid bbye and get back to playing....this round will go for another couple of hours before we sleep.....I am in no mood of giving the last exam which is scheduled tomorrow at 10:00AM.....but poor me..have to go to write the exams....more later...its cards time first
This is exam time and most of us are even done with theirs but unfortunate me has one more to go tomorrow morning...but nobody is getting even a slightest of the feeling that the exams are going on...we are playing TT, cards, involving in hours of something very important of these 2 years of life, "bhasad"...(please note that the "WE" here in the start of the sentence does not involve the regular "Ghissus" which are still "Ghissing, ghissing and ghissing")..so everyone is trying to enjoy in the most awesome way they can think of....
But some events unfolded today and yesterday that has not only disturbed many of us...but has made me think again and again that it is the era of "Ghor Kalyug" for sure...

Not the end I expected to the D-day
Kids........way back in Sep 2008, something happened which was repeated in a similar fashion yesterday. 3rd Feb, a day in my life that I will never forget. Lemme xplain how....
One thing which every student of a college wants is a satisfactory job with good profile and handsome package in a great company. But my preferences were somewhat different. I wanted a job which could offer me a handsome salary, in a reputed organization and then yeah...some known and reasonably well profile (the three points mentioned do have a priority order)
So I jumped into the war which was more intense than the freedom struggle (looking at the way some of my DEAR friends behaved during the GDs that we had). I had a few processes scheduled for the day and my friends had lot of confidence that I'll get placed easily in these companies on the day zero.
But I was tensed and this led me down in a couple of processes. When I came out of this fear and agony, I had only two important and one ok-ok types company in my hand. So I went for the GD of the ok-ok types and trust me giving that the name of a GD will be a sin. It was scheduled for 10 min and I was forced to keep quiet for 9 minutes. Then I spoke a point and then was asked to summarize by the moderator. So this was more of a war since there were persons (though i DESPERATELY want to name them, but ETHICALLY i shouldn't) who had just one thing in mind - they had to speak and speak and speak and not let others do this one thing which I believe everyone was good at, obviously except me (am i getting modest here??? I guess not !!!)
So being eliminated from here, I had to rush to the process of the company which I wanted to join at any cost (note that I haven't used the word DESPERATELY and this was intentional). But the GD had already started there and I just got 2 mins to read the case as against 5-7 mins taken by others. Well not to blame neone here, the discussion started and I spoke decently well since I analysed it decently well and surprisingly I cleared the GD.
Now comes the most interesting part of the entire day: tussle between the last company's(Comp A) PI and the new company (comp B) which just came to campus. Comp B takes interviews and leaves the campus in a short time and does not wait for neone. Comp A is taking 30 mins interviews. In the interview list, I was 7th or 8th for A, but suddenly the order changed and I was neither called for A nor for B. So, after a long wait, i was called for A and then I made some "jugad" to go to B first and give the interview. So I reached company B and the interview started:
I: Gold medalist..hmmm Tell me different layers in road
Me: there are 3 layers
I: there are 6. tell me 6
Me: Don't know
I: tell me difference between Bitumin 50 and Bitumin 500
Me: don't know
I: tell me different types of footings
Me: Column, Isolated, stepped,......mmmmm......
I: ye to koi bachcha bhi bata de,...tum to CIVIL Engg aur GOLD MEDALIST ho....aur batao
Me: Don't know
(Thinking in mind - what profile is he hiring for - something related to construction????----doubtful...)
I: What do we do
Me: Told
I: how do we do this
Me: Don't know
I: why do you want to join us
Me: Don't know...just looking at a different kind of profile and faff

(Shocked by this question - since the interview was comparatively pathetic but they asked this question,,,,in excitement i said no, i can work anywhere)

So the person handling the company goes in and tells more abt my candidature but the company calls in next candidate and my chances of getting thru get blurred
So I move to comp A where I was the last one to enter the interview process and

Me: Some technical very satisfactory answers......by far the best interview I had ever
But the company had already taken "n" (they came with a mindset of "n-1") and they can't take more. So i was disappointed and heartbroken. Everyone was with me consoling that Ok, u'll get placed tomorrow ......no issues....but human behavior- "It hurts more when ur friends are placed and u r not"...so I was in extreme pain...
I went to my room, changed, cried (not literally but figuratively) for 15 20 mins and then went back downstairs. After another 20 mins or so, came a phone call which completely changed my life. The person was my roomie and he said that u r thru in comp B. Ohh my dear lord.....this was the last thing that i expected to come to me......thank god...i rushed to confirm and then a huge huge sigh of relief towards the end of the day........
Then my T-shirt was torn and got my ass kicked (the most hardest of my stay here) but I was elated and was feeling no pain.....I finally got a job...but was not sure of the PACKAGE and less importantly profile they offered....so I asked someone and then was extremely joyful to hear that both these things were way above par.....
So overall the day ended in an exciting and thrilling way for me...
So kids...never lose hope because it ain't over till its over......chillax njoii

The Barrier
This new year eve, I crossed the one barrier of my life which i never even in wildest of my dreams thought would cross.
For the last one and half years, I got ample of opportunities of breaking "the barrier" but fortunately for me I was successful in not doing the same. Parties came and went but I was weak enough to not to try and cross "the Barrier". But I don't what happened this time that made me gather so much courage to cross it.
Let bygones be bygones. But I don't know how to react. Whether to feel ecstatic about it or to think that this was a pathetic thing to do.
The story goes in flash back. Way back in history, on Jan 1 2010, the new year party and I committed this blunder of crossing "the Barrier". It was in this party that I agreed, I don't why, to go for it. The entire world seemed to ask me the question "why the hell are you not going for it"???
So..... I did it.
But afterwards when all my friends knew that I did it, some of them asked me to repeat it. But I told them the truth of life. "There is a quantum of rules in everyone's life. The width of this Quantum decreases as we move along in our lives. But the reduction is very slow. I have reduced the one here and the next reduction will be after a long time and hence I will not repeat it"
I don't remember how many times I said this statement. But according to many of friends I said it quite a lot of times. This was the Vodka effect.
Yes, I drank one complete peg of VODKA. Oh my god I crossed "The Barrier". Now the question is when will be the next reduction in the quantum. I hope it doesn't come soon.

An awesome birthday celebration .. thanks to all my friends for making it great
This was my last birthday at this place and boy..i enjoyed a lot......hope such days come again and again in everyone's life....
we were to hav
e our last xam on my birthday but the celebrations were unaffected by this fact...as usual the cake and the ass kicking ceremony took place bang on the stroke of midnight and with the same zeal and enthusiasm as they usually do and i must admit this was the first time i was being hit so hard.....it was really paining.....the misery didn't end here.....my friendly roomie then slapped a pineapple cake right on my face and a friend of mine poured an entire bottle of beer over me.....(to all those who know me well, lemme clarify - this was the first and "probably" the last time i made contact with beer)......then i went to take a bath...but unfortunately there was no hot water....so after all this i had to bear an icy cold water rain in the chilling winters of gurgaon at 12:40 AM.....but all these moments are unforgetable...
then we had a small cake cutting ceremony at my room where the awesome chocolate cake was waiting for us (thanks my roomie for this)...we enjoyed the cake and then I had one more responsibility to be fulfilled .... taking a BFBV class at that point of time...it was 2:15 when i started to explain some concepts to a group of around 15 colleagues of mine and ended up at around 4:00 AM after which I went to sleep...though cash bargains were the pain in my ass but still I managed to sleep for a couple of hours.....
I took the exam and came back by 1:00 PM, had some work and finished it by 5:00 PM and then went on to play tennis....and then went out to eat some chat pakodi with my friends....we then sat down to play cards, and played till 3:30 AM in the morning the next day .... and at this point of time we decidced to depart for the drive thru McD near manesar....
I decided to drive the Ford Fiesta at 4:00 in the morning on the Guraon Jaipur Expressway and god...i enjoyed it....we came back by 5:30 and i had a session to attend at 7:30AM after which i thot i will leave for jaipur.....so i thot y not grab a little nap before the session....so i slept and when i woke up....gosh it was 9:40AM.....but i don't regret missing the session bcoz of the way we spent the last night,......

Tale of First Victory @ RANBHOOMI.........
its been a long time since i m planning to pen down my thoughts and write in this space, and the term has ended today. it wasn't that there was any dearth of issues, it was just the lethargic attitude which avoided me to do this....well more about it later....lets first come down to a more interesting issue at hand....our first match at Ranbhoomi, the cricket tournament at MDI
the team was named as Fuss Patakha and mind you it was in no sense a "Fuss" team. we started the victory paeans as soon as we won the toss and our explosive openers went on to bat....woww what an opening partnership that was...they provided the right platform for the forthcoming batsmen to come in and score runs freely....some exquisite sixes, elegant fours and calm singles can define the opening stand...but once the openers fell, it looked as if runs have started drying up and wickets fell quickly as well. but then the tail enders did their job and we went on to make a competitive total of 130 in 12 overs.
then came the other team...our bowling looked formidable in front of their batsmen and the way they started.....OMG....the first ball went to a SIX and that too on a swicth shot...the batsmen were playing calmly dealing only in sixes for the first 3 overs and then suddenly the turning point came....a run out and an awesome catch at the boundary...that set the sail of the victory for us and we won comfortably at the end....but when the openers were batting it looked that nothing was going right for us.....lots of meetings in between and bowling options to consider and field changes but all in vain....but all's well that ends well......
i was supposed to play the role of sheet anchor but unfortunately i wasn't able to match the general expectation level...they were thinking of me as dravid who will easily deal in singles but i thought i can change my game and play some shots.....but against my phisique and natural game i failed miserably and scored a boundary and 2 or 3 singles but wasted a lot of deliveries.....but then i decided to fulfill whatever was left in batting in my wicketkeeping and i successfully implemented it.......finally that was a comprehensive victory over "Gummatilakdigumma" the team of the southies....and we are all set to face the "Pandu aur 11 mulkon ki police"

Commonwealth games - Are We READY???
Delhi is hosting the commonwealth games 2010 and its almost final to the date. But have the preparations been up to date. Couple of days back I went through a poll in a leading daily asking the readers whether India can successfully host the event, and majority said no (the exact percentage saying no was somewhere near 60%). Are they pessimists or they are not patriotic or they don't want India to host the event??? I guess nothing among them is true.
Lets assume India can successfully host the event. What will happen after that???
Agreed that this will be a great opportunity for the tourism industry to flourish and expose the country to many new people. But the aftermaths are much more worse than the advantages. Lets get to them one by one.
A lot of money is spent on infrastructure. Its good that lots of underpasses, flyovers and metro routes are constructed for smooth transportation. But along with them as many as 7 new Air Traffic Control towers are proposed. Also a lot of companies are sensing an opportunity and have planned to raise world class hotels to project the brand India in front of GUESTS. But what will happen after the games. Who will use these world class facilities???
The current occupancy levels in the hotels is much below what is seen in many tourist countries of the world and with more hotels coming up, it will plummet. Also the maintenance cost incurred afterwards will be much higher than the revenue they will earn.
These events are attracting a lot of energy. Delhi is already short of power and water and these events demand hell lot of both of these precious gems. Are the people of Delhi ready to sacrifice because definitely there will be shortage, if not now then after the event.
Security of the guests is an issue. I guess this is the biggest one. With increasing terrorist attacks in the country, this is a great opportunity for the terrorists to give the country a huge blow. If such a thing happens, this will have a great impact on the relationships with other nations.
In the corner of my mind, there was this cultural issue related with the habit of foreigners. They drink a lot and during the events we will clearly see many of them drinking on roads in public. What impact that will have on our children???
There may be many more such pathetic affects which have been buried under the ecstasy of holding the event and which have been overlooked but the aftermaths have to be faced by us....

What the hell Jinnah has to do with our country now???
How does it matter that Jinnah was a secular leader or not??? How does it affect our daily lives??? The person concerned is resting and let him rest in peace. If there are books on him, they are the personal opinions of the book writers and they have the right to pen down their opinions. And if they don’t, then the freedom of speech is just a point in the constitution which looks good only on reading but its implementation....
So why such a hue and cry on the thoughts of Mr. Jaswant Singh to the extent that even his book has been banned. If he feels that Jinnah was a good man than what’s the harm in that. BJP has a history of producing controversial leaders. Be it Uma Bharti or Varun Gandhi or Lal Krishna Advani or Arun Shourie or Jaswant Singh. So what’s up with these high class leaders of BJP. They are critically analysing a historic character (which is of no use), then they go on to publish a book containing this analysis, then they fight internally to ban the book and then the party dismisses these leaders which have been there for 30 long years. What’s happening to our democracy??? Or is it just a ploy by the BJP leaders to change their image from the Hindu pro party to a more secular one. If this is the case then they are seriously troubling their interests with the RSS.
I am not against BJP or Congress for that matter. I just want to see these parties as strong as they can be so that Indian voters have two healthy alternatives to chose from. However after the elections, BJP chose the path of slow death or the path of suicide to be very precise, which is not only harmful for the party but for the entire nation. Because if the voters don’t have any other alternative to vote for, then it will become a sort of monopoly for the single party that remains i.e. Congress.
While history is just to study and be informed about and not to be worried about, the most important concern should be the present and the future. Are we running out of issues that we have to discuss those issues which have no relevance at all in the country’s growth? At the time when the entire world is thinking about growth our honourable leaders are busy extracting the dead bodies out of the coffin. Why don’t they debate the trivial issues of poverty, employment, economic growth, infrastructure, education with the same intensity as they are debating the non sense issue of Jinnah?

My friend needs yet another loan!!!
My friend needs an advice. Actually he has taken a lot of loan and there are lots of members in his family. His income is not sufficient to run the family expenses and hence he has to take loans. Even to repay his installments, he has to take fresh loans. The principal and interest are both increasing and he his taking fresh loans to repay the earlier ones. This is a vicious circle my friend is in.
You must be guessing who this friend of mine can be. He is known to everyone of us. Yes, it is the GOVERNMENT of India.
This union budget clearly shows how much GoI cares about the members of its family. But is the loan money meant to be distributed like this. The revenue as per the budget is 600 thousand crores and we have spent much much more than this and for this the Govt. needs to take a fresh loan of 400 thousand crore which is almost 3 times what was in 2004.
Now lets see that where the money is spent. More than 75% of the expenses are dedicated to defense and subsidies, and the daily expenses of the functioning of the GoI. After all these, whatever little is left goes to the so called investment in development for which there is always a chaos, and which in the end is rendered unproductive.
Our defense expenses have grown by almost 50% in the last 5 years and is around 140 thousand crore which is 15 times more than the education budget. Why are we comparing ourselves to USA when it comes to the defense budget. Isn't it better to maintain good relations with our neighbours and hence drastically reduce this defense expense. Isn't it better to provide employment to people through different productive schemes rather than distributing rice and wheat free of cost as subsidies.
The govt. should quit the areas where it is not needed and hence try to reduce the expenses. It is taking loans and doing unwanted stuff as if it was its last day and it can take any amount of loan without even caring for repayment. If the situation continues to be like this, then the day is not far when the burden of principal and interest will increase so many folds that the government has to reduce the development rate and the inflation will increase to an extent that it will become very difficult for people like us to survive.

Was that really a MISTAKE???
It rained the entire day today and i enjoyed a lot....spent almost 1.5 hours in the downpour with someone "SPECIAL"...but this is not the point which i wanted to highlight in this post...
It was yesterday...my Brand Management exam...that i did something in the initial hour of the paper which i now think i shouldn't have done, since it is not my cup of tea...generally i just go n give the exam and come back without doing much of "it".
The paper began at 10:15 and at around 11:10 or so, i did something which made me the center of attraction in the class. What I did was not an act which could have been ignored by the class and hence that made me feel a little regretful.
At around 11:10, in just less than an hour after the start of the exam, I, in my complete senses,.....wait for it........asked for an extra sheet from the invigilator....The entire class started looking at me as if i did something illegal....though this was not expected out of me but...and then the class started to honor me by bench tapping. I just got up slightly from my seat and waived my hand in order to thank the class.
But now I think that I should have got up and should have bowed right in front of the entire class...but never mind this act of mine made a "faffer" rethink of his capabilities....but with full respect i won't accept that crown since it belongs to that person only.....

Rahul Gandhi + Youth + Gareeb Bharatiya = Congress victory
While the results of Indian Premier League are still awaited, results of Indian Political League are out and are quite welcoming. Congress has clearly won the elections and gained a thumping majority. The victory can be devoted to UP, West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and many more such states all over India where BJP and other local parties suffered setbacks. These elections have given many positives to the Indian politics.
The first and the foremost is the destruction of “Red Fort” of West Bengal, formed by the Left front. After so many years of their stern traditional sticky control over west, the Mamata Bannerjee brigade has destroyed the Jyoti Basu army and has created history.
Then comes UP. They had only 9 seats out of 80 in the last Lok Sabha which has seen a sharp increase this year to 21. The major losers were SP and BSP. So the dreams of Mulayam and Mayawati have been thrashed and the primary reason is Rahul Gandhi. It was his industrious efforts which led Congress to have its feet in UP after many years.
Bihar was another state which suffered the aberration. The balloon named Lalu Yadav deflated and his party got only 3 seats with himself defeated from one place. Even Paswan and his party suffered badly as well. We can expect something good out of this sweep out.
Even Shiv Sena in Maharashtra was way below in its performance and so were many local parties.
So can we conclude that the verdict of the Indian voter is changing!!! Is he now consciously giving his precious vote to the national parties only??? Is he using his judgement to wipe out inefficient people from the politics??? Is Indian politics on the verge of turnaround???
Well these questions can be better answered in the next elections only and that will be 5 years from now and this is almost certain. UPA will be making a government in which there will be no place for Left, Lalu or Paswan. But still they have given a call to Lalu as of now, the hazy picture will become more clearer in days to come.
But one thing is sure, these people will now have very less bargaining power and very less say in the govt working and hence the govt can impose the decisions which it wants to, more freely and without the fear of stepping down from power (I hope we remember what Left did during the Nuke Deal).
Stability, improved economy and a better politics is what we expect now from this government. Lets wait n watch what this govt. has in store for us!!!
But there are some questions which rose after the elections and are still unanswered. The BJP PM Candidate, who was termed as PM in waiting has refused to become the Opposition leader in Lok Sabha. So who will take his place??? What will be the future of LK Advani??? Who will be the next candidate from BJP??? Will it be Narendra Modi??? With Ajit Singh changing ends soon after the results, what is the loyalty of a member to his party??? Will Rahul Gandhi become a Cabinet minister???

My first VOTING Experience
Well...not a good time to start Voting!!! This was the first time I voted and the experience was seriously pathetic. I guess this is the thing which drives many youngsters away from politics and our country is still plagued by the old, not ready to leave politicians.
So, as a concerned citizen, I went to vote at 8:00 AM (trust me I don't even get up at 8 AM normally, not even during my exams). I was enthusiastic but there was something else waiting for me in the next 2 days of election "Mahaul". I saw the much hyped Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and guess what, I got a shock (not an electrical shock by touching the machine)...it was like an asteroid coming from Mars and striking me right on my head. There were a couple of EVMs connected in series containing names of 30 odd candidates. The shock was these candidates were contesting elections from my own city and I knew the names of only 2 of them...even the people sitting there knew 14 candidates at max and according to my research in newspaper thereafter, I found out that only 5 or 6 candidates tried to do some campaigning on a bigger scale..big enough to win elections.
So if people don't know the candidates then how can they vote for them and if they can't then whats the purpose of placing another machine and adding to the colossal some of money spent in the elections.
My misery doesn't ends here. Next day, I was in Dausa for some work and I saw the biggest rally of my life. "Rally" will be demeaning as it was a POWER SHOW by the supporters of Kirodi lal Meena..I don't know what they were trying to prove...but were extremely happy as if he (hon. Kirori ji) won the election. They helped the common man by blocking the roads for 2 hours and threatening people who came in their way. The police and special force was just standing as a spectator waiting for them to leave and play with the law and order for as much time they wanted. If the ministers and the police are just adding to our woes, then whats the point in Voting!!!
I coudn't exercise the Section 49-0...I VOTE NOBODY and it hurts now....may be if many people do that, election commission should understand the public sentiment that none of the candidate was good enough to cast a vote for. Lets hope that the awareness of this one helps eliminating the non-qualified candidates and the democracy finds out a way towards improved politics.

Contrast..Singapore v/s India
The facts presented below are completely personal and resemlence to any living or dead is intented...so that people may learn and can take this country to a place it deserves....So, I left Singapore yesterday through one of the largest, cleanest and beautiful airports of the world...."Changi Airport". It handles 3 to 4 times more passengers and cargo than IGI, but still its maintenance and security are second to none....inimitable..
Not that they have more people to manage these..but the people there contribute a lot to the Nation's success by helping the government in every venture...
Just taking a samll example, the road crossings...people there don't cross the roads till the crossing light meant for them doesn't turn green...they do not spoil the roads by spitting or throwing any litter neither do they have maculate busses or trains, MRTs as they call. They abide by rules and do not eat or throw anything in their busses or trains to keep then dirtless.
But here, you can't find a bus in which people are not smoking, or litter spattered everywhere.
They have some of the best cars as taxis to run on jelly like smooth roads. Cars like BMWs, Mercedes, Peugeots, Nissans, Toyotas, etc are used as taxis.
They use cycles a lot and this coupled with excessive usage of public transport is a primary reason that the country is green and clean....as against us, the ROYAL INDIANS who consider driving cycles or travelling in buses as demeaning our reputation...which repo are we talking of??? vis a vis our neighbour.....thats bullsh**t.....
Now something very peculiar about the people there. They do a lot of text while travelling. Their speed on their mobiles is unmatched. Very few people are found reading books or newspapers as aginst Americans or Europeans who read a lot while travelling.
Now, I would not sound like my economics teacher..always cursing India..So a sigh of relief for the Indians vis a vis Singapore people....As far as studies are concerned, they are way behind us....they generally leave schools to find jobs in places like Pizza hut or Mcdonalds.....
But after all this..one thing is sure.....they are happy going, helpful and have managed to lift their country to a position which seems unmatchable by any standards like ours
